Immersive Santos 1.4

GTA 5 Mods |
Immersive Santos 1.4

Mod Overview

This mod adds more everyday activity, varied events, and believable reactions to Los Santos and the surrounding areas. It combines a script with an OIV package to make the world feel busier, more responsive, and less predictable.

OIV Package

Crime Awareness

  • Fixed broken crime witness data that could cause crashes or be ignored by the game.
  • Increased gunfire hearing distance from 50 m to 100 m.
  • Increased explosion hearing distance from 65 m to 150 m.
  • Increased the detection distance for shooting pedestrians or police officers from 14 m to 40 m.
  • Increased the detection distance for shooting vehicles from 30 m to 50 m.
  • Increased the detection distance for non-lethal weapon use from 4 m to 15 m.
  • Made suppressed weapons slightly more noticeable, increasing their detection distance from 3 m to 6 m.
  • Increased the distance at which killings, police killings, and collisions with pedestrians are noticed.
  • Ambient pedestrians now notice nearby deaths from farther away.

Living Streets

  • Pedestrians no longer remain in the same activity indefinitely. People using phones, smoking, leaning, drinking, window shopping, or reading maps move on after a few minutes.
  • People wait longer at bus stops.
  • Fewer police officers stand around idly.
  • More people sit on benches.
  • More homeless people appear on the streets.
  • Twice as many birds appear in trees and on telegraph poles.

Version 2.0: OIV Changes

Peds.ymt: NPC Behaviour

  • Addressed the behaviour of NPCs who prepare to fight but flee when targeted with the camera or a weapon they have already seen drawn.

pedaccuracy.meta: Shooting Accuracy

  • Reduced AI accuracy from 2.0 to 1.3, making police and gang members less precise.
  • Reduced professional pistol users’ accuracy against other AI from 2.5 to 1.8.
  • Adjusted distance scaling: full accuracy applies below 3 m, previously 5 m, while minimum accuracy applies from 25 m, previously 15 m.
  • Made it harder for NPCs to hit you while you are walking, running, or driving at speed.
  • Reduced wounded shooters’ accuracy from 0.5 to 0.35.
  • Reduced the player’s blind-fire accuracy.

motivations.meta: Mood Changes

  • Anger builds 2.5 times more slowly and starts at a lower level.
  • Fear builds more slowly and starts at a lower level, reducing immediate panic.
  • Happiness develops at a more natural pace instead of changing instantly.

scenariotriggers.meta: Reactions to Shocking Events

  • Reactions are no longer guaranteed for every pedestrian.
  • Reaction probabilities are 85% for cowardly exits, 90% for instant exits, 80% for fleeing, and 95% for normal reactions.
  • Crowds now respond less uniformly, with some people reacting while others continue their activities.

noisetuning.meta: Footstep Noise

  • Reduced sneaking detection distance from 10 m to 7 m.
  • Reduced walking detection distance from 15 m to 12 m.
  • Increased running detection distance from 25 m to 30 m.
  • Increased sprinting detection distance from 30 m to 40 m.
  • Applied the same values to the single-player and multiplayer tables.

crimes.meta: Vehicle Theft Detection

  • Reduced vehicle theft detection distance from 50 m to 28 m, allowing thefts on quiet streets to go unnoticed more often.

propsets.meta: Pedestrian Props

  • Enabled the previously disabled brown-bag bottle for drinking pedestrians.
  • Balanced handheld food distribution between bagels and both doughnut types.
  • Increased the frequency of coffee among people drinking in deckchairs.

agitatedtriggers.meta: Confrontation Triggers

  • Gang members take longer to react when you enter their territory: 0.7 to 2.5 seconds, previously 0.1 to 1.5 seconds.
  • Pedestrians take longer to complain when you stand directly in front of them: 0.9 to 1.8 seconds, previously 0.35 to 0.6 seconds.
  • Adjusted reaction delays for standing behind someone to 4.5 to 7 seconds, and for blocking someone with a vehicle to 6 to 9 seconds.
  • Pedestrians notice being followed sooner, after 6 to 10 seconds, but escalate more slowly, with 3 to 5 seconds between stages.
  • Intimidated pedestrians remain intimidated longer before reacting again: 22 to 38 seconds, previously 15 to 25 seconds.
  • Increased gang support probabilities to 45% for the Families, Vagos, and bikers, and from 25% to 40% for other gangs.
  • Increased gang support distance from 10 m to 13 m.

agitatedpersonalities.meta: Group Confidence

  • Pedestrians now need three nearby friends instead of two before group confidence encourages them to confront you, reducing random fights with bystanders.

agitatedresponses.meta: Reaction Intensity

  • Changed twelve responses that previously forced maximum fear to use 0.75, reducing immediate full panic.
  • Pedestrians resume their previous activities once you are 22 m away, previously 30 m.

Script Features

Living World

  • Adjusts pedestrian, traffic, scenario, and parked vehicle density by time of day and area, including beaches, downtown, nightlife districts, gang neighbourhoods, industrial zones, the airport, countryside, and suburbs.
  • Creates a daily rhythm with busy morning and early-evening rush hours, followed by quieter streets late at night.
  • Adds groups of two to four pedestrians walking together, sometimes with a dog.
  • Encourages pedestrians to use existing benches, ATMs, vending machines, and shop windows.
  • Adds small groups chatting, smoking, drinking, or standing together, with activities suited to the area and time of day.
  • Adds office workers gathering outside in the evening to smoke and talk.
  • Adds nighttime club queues with a bouncer at the entrance.
  • Fills terraces and cafés during the day.
  • Adds people waiting at bus stops.
  • Adds couriers who double-park, carry parcels to a door, and drive away.
  • Adds refuse trucks working their rounds with two crew members walking behind.
  • Keeps pedestrians off roads and crossings. Script-controlled pedestrians who enter a traffic lane are directed back to the pavement.
  • Spawns activity at a distance or outside your view, preventing scenes from appearing directly in front of you.

Shops

  • Adds customers to shops and Ammu-Nation stores, with activity ranging from empty to packed depending on the time of day.
  • Adds extra clerks and occasional queues at counters.
  • Gives clerks activities such as checking phones, drinking coffee, smoking, leaning on counters, and doing paperwork. They change activities while you are not looking.
  • Temporarily closes robbed shops, prevents customers from entering, and adds police officers parked outside investigating.

Interiors

Optional and disabled by default.

  • Adds people to otherwise empty interiors.
  • Includes preconfigured banks that work in the base game, with tellers behind counters and customers waiting or queueing.
  • Supports custom coordinates for offices, bars, shops, and homes when used with a mod that enables additional interiors.
  • Interior pedestrians appear only while you are outside and the interior is loaded.

Traffic

  • Adds broken-down cars with raised bonnets, smoke, and owners calling for help.
  • Adds vehicles arriving, parking, and locking, followed by occupants walking away.
  • Adds cars refuelling at petrol stations, with people standing nearby.
  • Drivers stuck behind you honk and shout through their windows.
  • Faster highway traffic overtakes you.

Realistic Reactions

  • Pedestrians move away briskly when you carry a weapon nearby or crash close to them. Carrying a weapon near them does not trigger a wanted level.
  • People raise their hands or cower when you aim at them.
  • Pedestrians show stronger fear around gunfire.
  • Crashes attract varied reactions: some people leave, while others record with their phones.
  • Pedestrians interact with their surroundings and talk to one another.
  • People stop to photograph your parked car. Muscle, sports, sports classic, and super cars are included by default.

Witness System

  • Crimes no longer trigger an instant wanted level unless a police officer sees them.
  • Witnesses flee first, then report the crime using a mobile phone or the nearest phone booth.
  • Interrupting a witness before the call ends by knocking them down, killing them, or aiming at them prevents the report.
  • Police officers who witness a crime trigger a wanted level immediately.
  • An optional setting prevents crimes without witnesses from generating any wanted level.

Identity and Disguise

  • Police remember the outfit, mask, and vehicle associated with a crime.
  • Changing your clothes and vehicle without being seen clears your wanted level.
  • Dark window tints or a changed appearance prevent automatic recognition, unless an officer gets close enough to inspect you.

Progressive Vehicle Damage

  • Heavily damaged vehicles develop throttle stutter.
  • Hard impacts can bend axles, causing the vehicle to pull to one side.
  • Severe impacts can damage the brakes and cause intermittent brake failure.

Ammo Economy

  • Each Ammu-Nation has limited ammunition stock for pistols, SMGs, rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, and machine guns.
  • Large purchases increase prices, and ammunition can remain out of stock for several in-game days.
  • Prices vary by area, with higher prices downtown and lower prices in the countryside.
  • Gunfights around the city reduce available stock.
  • Stock replenishes and prices fall over time.

Dynamic Events

Events appear according to the area and time of day. You can pass by or get involved.

Police

  • Vehicle patrols around the area.
  • Officers taking breaks outside stations or beside patrol cars, drinking coffee, eating doughnuts, smoking, or chatting before returning to patrol.
  • Road checkpoints with cones closing a lane, patrol cars with lights on, an officer directing traffic, and others checking drivers’ documents.
  • Occasional police chases that can continue on foot, with backup units and arrests.
  • A police helicopter circling over the city and gang neighbourhoods at night.
  • Municipal tow trucks removing badly parked vehicles.

Police do not intervene in other events unless this behaviour is enabled in the INI file.

Gang Territories

  • Gang members gathering beside parked cars in territory controlled by their own gang, drinking, smoking, keeping watch, and dealing to passing buyers.
  • Weapon deals from car boots, with lookouts and buyers leaving armed.
  • Street drug deals, especially in gang neighbourhoods and industrial areas.
  • Fights between local rival gangs, including the Families, Ballas, Vagos, Marabunta, Aztecas, and The Lost.
  • Gang drive-bys.
  • Gang memory: killing enough members causes that gang to attack you on sight in its territory until it forgets about you.

Crime

  • Armed muggings and snatch-and-run thefts, usually targeting existing pedestrians. Victims may fight back or chase the thief, and incidents are more common in rough areas.
  • Traffic accidents with injured people and onlookers filming.
  • Street fights with spectators cheering and recording.
  • Store robberies with getaway cars.
  • Carjackings.

Emergency Services

  • Ambulances and fire engines respond to real incidents with sirens.

Countryside and Coast

  • Tractors and combines working in fields.

  • Hiking groups, sometimes accompanied by a mountain biker.
  • Truckers resting beside their vehicles, smoking or drinking coffee.
  • Convoys of three to five Lost bikers riding in formation.
  • Off-road vehicles.
  • Campsites with tents and bonfires.
  • Barn finds featuring rare abandoned classic cars you can take.

Optional Events

Disabled by default.

  • Traffic stops where drivers may flee.
  • Foot patrols.
  • Foot chases involving tasers and arrests.
  • Escorted prisoner transport convoys.
  • Police raids that can escalate into shootouts.

Hotspots

  • Save custom locations in-game and populate them with crowds, beach parties, queues, construction crews, electricians, or parked aircraft with pilots and mechanics.

Super Lively Mode

  • Enables a much busier city with more pedestrians, heavier traffic, packed shops, more events, and more crime.
  • Lets you choose which systems receive a boost, including density, crowds, shops, events, crime, reactions, and traffic.
  • Allows you to adjust the strength of each boost.

Configuration

  • Includes more than 50 events, each with configurable weight, spawn chance, cooldown, areas, active hours, and per-area probability multipliers.
  • Configure features in ImmersiveSantos.ini, including police behaviour, daily routines, interiors, models, gang territories, shop locations, and petrol stations.

  • F11: Save your current position as a hotspot.
  • F9: Reload the INI file in-game.
